Beyonce: Beyoncé

Beyonce released her fifth studio album on December 13, 2013. Beyonce's songs are accompanied by non-linear short film that illustrate the musical concepts conceived during production. Its dark, intimate subject material includes feminist themes of sex, monogamous love and relationship issues, inspired by Beyoncé's desire to assert her full creative freedom. The album sold 828,773 copies worldwide in its first three days of availability, becoming the fastest-selling album in the history of the iTunes Store. This album is my personal favorite and if there's ever any doubt in Beyoncé's work just give this album a listen.  I give Beyoncé album "Beyoncé" 5/5 Mics

Recommended Tracks "XO",  "Pretty Hurts", "Drunk In Love" and "Jealous"

Kendrick Lamar: How To Pimp A Butterfly

In March 2015, Lamar released his third album, title "To Pimp a Butterfly."  TBAP debuted at No. 1 selling 324,000 in it's first week giving Kendrick Lamar his first No. 1 on the charts. TBAP is a follow-up to Lamar's platinum selling, multi-Grammy Award nominated, critically acclaimed major-label debut, good kid maad city. We all patently waited to see what the lyrical genius was going to drop next.

To Pimp A Butterfly sends a great message to the black community while showcasing Lamar's lyrical skills. Although there is a positive message sent this album felt like it is missing something. The selection over the Jazzy tunes didn't work for me. I did manage to enjoy a few songs from this album. I must say I was expecting a much greater album from Kendrick Lamar. I give Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp
a Butterfly" 2.5/5 Mics

Recommended Tracks "Momma" and "Alright
